My name is Rune Skjoldborg Madsen and I was born January 3rd 1983 in a small city outside of Copenhagen, Denmark. I work with graphic design and programming, and most of what I do is somehow related to the internet.
I started doing graphic design before high school and through Flash 4 I learned my first simple lines of code. With help from my brother I moved from HTML/CSS and Actionscript 1 to Actionscript 2, Actionscript 3 and PHP. Now, I thrive in the space between beautiful graphic design and elegant object-oriented programming. I've learned that true beauty on screen requires beauty in code. I have bachelor degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen, and I'm currently taking my Masters degree in Interactive Telecommunications at New York University.
Most of the programming I do revolves around web development, that being Javascript, Actionscript, PHP, Python or Ruby. I also program C++ (OpenFrameworks), Java (Processing) and Objective C. I'm always looking for new and clean frameworks that can speed up the development process.
I'm a fan of simple and organized design. I design mostly for screens and I never do print design. I have a weakness for design accomplished through code, not only because it challenges the designer to use a different toolset, but also because the final results are stunning when balanced properly.
